Teachers Feel Nearly Twice as Connected to Students

It’s amazing that something as cheap as a second screen can help teachers feel “nearly twice as connected to their students.”

A new impact study by the University of Washington says:

“In a recent survey of over 3,800 teachers, teachers reported feeling nearly twice as connected to their students after receiving and using a second monitor [emphasis added]. Similarly, teachers rated their students as significantly more engaged in online classroom learning. These improvements in teacher-student connection were likely due to the increases in the teachers’ organization and content delivery, as well as physical and technological comfort.”

The study showed greater benefits for teachers at low-income schools. 74% of teachers waiting for monitors are at low-income schools.

In the responses from teachers, these words appeared most frequently:

Give the Gift of Connection

There’s so much going on in the world right now that we can’t control, but giving teachers a second screen is something we can do together that helps immediately.

In the last 100 days, donors like you have given more than 20,000 monitors to teachers — including entire cities like Seattle, San Francisco, and Oakland and states like New Mexico, Arizona and Kansas.

We have a donor covering all of our overhead so every dollar you give goes straight to teachers.

There are six months left in this school year and we’re not willing to write that off until everyone is vaccinated.

Please, take a break from whatever you were going to click on next, and donate to help teachers and students during COVID. It only takes a few minutes.

Thank you for your support!
